Anjana Jayaram is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the State of California. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.
Before moving to the United States in 2009, Anjana has worked for seven years in an out-patient center, associated with a training College for Speech and Hearing Sciences, in Bengaluru, India. During this time she gained immense knowledge and understanding of various diagnosis & treatment methods, and working with families of different linguistic, social and economic backgrounds. She successfully led the department of Speech Therapy Services. During this time she also taught Under graduate courses in Speech-language Pathology and Rehabilitative audiology for four years.
Anjana has lived in California since 2013, and has worked for five years in various public school districts, serving children from preschool until high school, with a wide variety of speech-language difficulties. She has held social skills groups/lunch bunch at elementary and middle schools.
In the past two years, she has worked in teletherapy, using proprietary portals, and also using commonly available video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Google meet. She has improvised her therapy material and strategies to keep the interest and motivation of her clients and families.
She is certified by Hanen as a Leader (Learning Language and Loving It) to train other professionals. The Hanen approach is an intervention strategy where parents, educators and other service providers are taught to communicate effectively with young children.
She conducts speech-language assessments and provides speech therapy services at a therapeutic gym in the Bay Area, alongside Occupational therapists (OT). Here, the sessions are a combination of play-based - being on the move, using the gym material, to be in a sensory-regulated zone for the client, and table-top/desktop activities. She uses strategies from the Hanen approach during the collaborative sessions with the OT.
When not working in the field, she spends time cooking, reading with and to-, listening to-, exploring, and watching TV with her three kids and her husband.

Shemi James is a Licensed Speech Pathologist and Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) Specialist, in the State of California. She also possesses a Clinical Competence Certificate from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Shemi, started her career in New York, as an Early Intervention Speech Pathologist working with children in the age group of 0-3 years with variety of communication challenges.
She moved to California in 2007 and since then she has worked in different school sites as a Speech Pathologist providing services to children with Autism Spectrum, Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities. During the pandemic of 2020, she started providing teletherapy services for the schools that she served. She has been able to create and modify her material to suit the needs of her students.
Being an AAC Specialist, she conducts assessments, device trials, provide consultation and collaboration to the parents, teachers and other professionals to enhance the individual's communication skills using the Speech Generative Device (SGD). During the pandemic, she provided tele sessions to train the students, families and staff to successfully engage in using the SGD.
She often uses the PROMPT strategies, ABA principles , strategies of PECS(Picture Exchange Communication System) while working with individuals with non-verbal and minimal verbal output. She also uses the strategies of Every Move Counts Clicks and Chats, in her practice.
Shemi has a passion for working with children who have complex communication needs and are not able to functionally communicate.
Shemi also conducts IEE assessment for students with Speech and AAC needs.
Shemi likes spending time cooking, watching TV, and biking with her two children and her husband.
